Our History

Thai Occidental Productions was founded in 2006 and has since successfully completed multiple international feature films, major TV series plus numerous commercials. Most recently we were proud to service ‘Shantaram’ and ‘Sergio’.

Mission Statement

To be aware and operate the highest standard of health and safety procedures. To understand labour and legal requirements for all crew and cast wherever they come from. That all fiscal dealings are transparent and the producers are always given freedom of choice through comparison bids. I started Thai Occidental Productions as the sort of service company that as an experienced international line producer I would want to work with. Clear information, no surcharges or commissions, transparent accounting, knowledgeable advice. Most importantly we give commitment to the project to provide the very best production value for the budget available. Thai Occidental Production is known and approved by all leading completion bond companies.

Our Team

Charles Salmon

Managing Director

Charles’ experience from location manager through to producer ranges from BBC TV and streamer productions to independent and studio feature films.

A special knowledge of working in Asia locations led to the founding of Thai Occidental Productions, with the aim of bringing the highest standards of production practices to the local market. As well as Thailand, India, Malaysia and China, Charles has worked extensively in Africa, Europe, Russia and Eastern Europe and well as the Caribbean, USA and Canada.

Charles’ priority is to achieve maximum production value from any budget; if it is low or high budget, TV, commercial or studio production they are all treated with the same principles of getting the best deals and achieving maximum screen value. Importantly health and safety awareness to expected international standards and familiarity with film agreements and the requirements of production executives and completion bond companies are always delivered.

    Ralf’s extensive international experience as an assistant director and production manager assures our productions have the highest standards required of high-end productions.

    Ralf’s knowledge of scheduling, production planning and prediction of potential problems ensures the shoot is as efficient as possible.

        Post, VFX and AI Specialist

        Nickson is first Singaporean to receive an Academy Award. He is an outstanding film maker and VFX producer who brings his considerable experience to ensure the best and innovative technical support to any production.

          Chili has been part of the development of the company since our early days and understands the concerns and requirements of an international production in Thailand.
